As a Warehouse Mechanic, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the warehouse’s mechanical systems and equipment. Your primary responsibilities will revolve around inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventive maintenance on various machinery and vehicles used within the warehouse facility.
- Equipment Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, diagnose mechanical issues, and perform repairs on a variety of warehouse equipment, including forklifts, conveyors, pallet jacks, and other material handling systems.
- Preventive Maintenance: Develop and implement a proactive maintenance schedule to prevent equipment breakdowns, reduce downtime, and ensure optimal performance of machinery.
- Emergency Repairs: Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and emergencies, working efficiently to resolve issues to minimize disruption to warehouse operations.
- Parts and Inventory Management: Keep track of spare parts inventory, order replacement components when needed, and maintain an organized parts storage system.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that all repaired equipment meets safety standards and regulations, contributing to a safe working environment for warehouse staff.
- Record Keeping: Document all maintenance activities, including repairs, inspections, and maintenance schedules, for future reference and compliance purposes.
- Collaboration: Coordinate with warehouse supervisors and other staff to understand maintenance needs, provide updates on equipment status, and assist in planning maintenance activities without hindering daily operations.
- Proven experience as a mechanic, preferably in a warehouse or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical components.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and other maintenance instruments.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Solid problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects as required.
