• Troubleshoot, repair, and replace programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their components. • Interpret and understand electrical and electronic schematic diagrams. • Make necessary adjustments to ensure the optimum speed and quality of high-speed packaging machines. • Perform machine setups, startups, and changeovers according to the production schedule. • Analyze faults in hardwire relay logic, motor control circuits, power circuits, and utility/lighting circuits. • Replace or repair defective equipment parts using appropriate tools and equipment. • Conduct overhauls of machinery and equipment, including component replacements, alignments, and calibration. • Familiarity with instrumentation, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and digital equipment. • Install, test, and maintain electronic and electrical equipment. • Utilize drawings and blueprints to facilitate maintenance and repairs. • Assist in the installation of new control circuits and modifications to existing instrument/electrical systems. • Collaborate effectively with various plant departments, even in cold and damp conditions. • Reassemble equipment after inspections, testing, or repairs. • Install equipment, machines, wiring, or programs according to specifications. • Maintain a clean work environment by removing debris in work areas, workbenches, and break rooms. • Prioritize safety by identifying and eliminating unsafe acts or conditions. • Participate in compliance measures to meet GMP, HACCP, SQF, and federal food safety and quality standards.
• Post-secondary certification in electronics or a related field, with 2-5 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Proficiency in using various tools, ranging from common hand and power tools to precision instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices. You must provide your own hand tools needed for the job. • Strong problem-solving skills and basic mathematical abilities. Ability to effectively organize tasks and work with minimal supervision. • Capability to work in an environment with exposure to blood. • Proficiency in reading, writing, and comprehending English. • Self-motivation and the ability to work with minimal supervision. • Physical fitness to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., climb ladders, bend, twist, and work at heights. • Comfort with a standing position for approximately 70% of the workday, walking for 25%, and sitting for 5%. • Adequate vision (near acuity) for clarity at 20 inches or less. • Effective communication skills, both in speaking and listening, for ordinary conversations. • Ability to work in various environments, including exposure to fluorescent lights and refrigerated temperatures, and possible exposure to confined spaces.
